Function:

• Reduce the pressure of gas in the cylinder to a lower pressure that is more suitable for the appliance
• Keep the pressure fixed (within limits) at that value
• Put exactly as much gas into the piping system as the load device takes out to prevent damage to the equipment and tools
• Regulators sense if the pressure in a line drops below a specified set point and opens, allowing more gas to flow
• Regulators control the flow from higher pressure to lower pressure
